THIN 250 AND 400 WATT SWITCHERS FEATURE LOW
1U PROFILE AND IEC INPUT WITH SWITCH
Coral Springs, Florida-UNIPOWER's
Thin-250 and Thin-400 (MD and MF Series) single-output switchers are now
available in low profile, fan cooled cases with an integral IEC AC input
connector and on/off switch.
The MD produces 250 watts, while
the MF produces 400 watts. There are four versions of each supply available:
open frame (standard), top covered (option C), fully covered with dual fans
(option N), and now the fully covered version with dual fans, integral IEC
input connector and on/off switch (option IEC). These IEC versions retain the
thin 1.75-inch case height and have power density up to 4.4 watts per cubic
inch.
Key features include:
active power factor correction to EN61000-3-2; universal input of 85 to 264VAC;
Class B EMI input filter to EN55022; independent 5VDC, 100mA supervisory
output; and single wire, active current sharing. In addition, control and
supervisory circuits provided include DC power good, AC power fail and a
normally open inhibit input.
The small size and low
profile of UNIPOWER's MD and MF Series power supplies was achieved by reducing
magnetic components, extensive use of integrated circuits, simplified circuitry
and use of surface-mount technology throughout. The supply is produced on a
single circuit board with one small, vertically mounted control card. Surface-mount
parts are mounted on the top side only, and no devices are attached to the
chassis, simplifying assembly. The primary circuit employs a forward converter
switching at 150kHz with a horizontally-mounted high frequency transformer.
Prices for the MD/MF
Series are as low as $186 in OEM quantities. Delivery time is stock to 8 weeks,
depending on quantity.
